What anxiety looks like for high performers
At a high level, anxiety is often hidden behind capability.
It can look like:
👉 Thoroughness
👉 Responsibility
👉 High standards
But it feels like:
👉 Constant mental activity
👉 Difficulty disengaging from work or decisions
👉 Your brain keeps trying to “resolve” things that don’t need resolving
Why traditional anxiety support often falls short
Approaches such as therapy, mindfulness and productivity systems are helpful, but not always sufficient at this level.
Common gaps I see are:
- Awareness without change: You understand what’s happening, but nothing changes in real situations.
- Generic advice that doesn’t match your context: “Do less” or “slow down” isn’t realistic when you operate in high-responsibility environments.
- Lack of structure: Conversations are helpful, but don’t translate into consistent behavioural change.
- Focus on symptoms, not drivers: Techniques reduce stress temporarily but don’t resolve what’s creating it.
This is why the same patterns tend to return.
A practical approach that creates real change
All 1:1 sessions are delivered either online or in-person in Glasgow or Edinburgh. We work through three clear stages:
01
Clarify
We pinpoint:
- where anxiety shows up
- what triggers it
- the internal rules driving it
Example: “I overthink when I feel fully responsible for the outcome.”
02
Shift
We work on:
- reducing unnecessary mental load
- challenging unhelpful expectations
- changing how you respond under pressure
This is applied to real situations, not theory.
03
Act
Each session ends with one or two specific actions to implement immediately, focused on creating measurable change.
Between sessions, progress is tracked, accountability is maintained, and adjustments are made to keep you moving forward.
What results can you expect from anxiety coaching?
My clients typically experience:
- Less overthinking
- Faster, clearer decision-making
- Reduced internal pressure
- Improved ability to switch off
- Greater sense of control
What clients say
See what this could look like for you
If you’re recognising your own patterns in this, the next step is simple.
A short online consultation call helps you:
- get clarity on what’s actually driving your anxiety
- understand how this approach would apply to you specifically
- decide, without pressure, if it’s the right fit
What makes my coaching different?
Designed for high-functioning individuals
This isn’t generic anxiety coaching. It’s built for people who are already capable, responsible, and operating at a high standard.
Focus on root causes, not coping strategies
Rather than managing anxiety, we work on the patterns creating it, the beliefs sustaining it, and the behaviours reinforcing it, so the change actually lasts.
Structured and action-led
You won’t leave sessions thinking “that was interesting.” Every session has a clear focus and practical next steps you can apply immediately.
Deeply personalised
Everything we do is tailored to how you think, where your patterns show up, and what will create the most effective shift for you.
Built-in accountability and support
You’re supported between sessions, not just during them.
What to expect from our first call
This isn’t a sales call. It’s a focused, practical conversation to help you decide what makes sense for you.
On the call, we will:
- explore what’s currently creating anxiety
- identify key patterns (often within the first conversation)
- talk through how change would actually happen in your situation
- decide together whether this is the right fit
If it is, we’ll discuss next steps. If it isn’t, you’ll still leave with clarity.
